Job Summary: Oversees gold trade activities across the upstream, downstream, and export markets, ensuring efficient sourcing, ethical procurement, and seamless trade facilitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise domestic and international market access and enhance trading mechanisms.

  • Collaborate with the Bank of Ghana, Ministry of Finance, and financial institutions to secure trade financing, ensuring adequate liquidity to sustain gold acquisition at all trade points.

  • Design and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for aggregators and traders, setting benchmarks that drive ethical sourcing, trade efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

  • Facilitate seamless gold export operations, ensuring compliance and market competitiveness.

  • Establish and enforce downstream gold pricing frameworks that reflect global benchmarks while protecting local market competitiveness.

  • Work with Compliance, Risk, and Finance teams to enforce anti-money laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and responsible trade policies, ensuring regulatory adherence.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Strategic Management, International Business, or related field and member of a relevant professional body.

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in managing gold trade operations, mining sector commerce, commodities marketing, with at least five (5) years in a senior role.

  • Extensive experience in gold trading or commodities trading, particularly in international markets.

  • Strong understanding of gold market dynamics, sourcing, and export procedures.

  • Knowledge of supply chain dynamics, responsible sourcing standards, and financial instruments for trade financing.

Head of Unit, Downstream Trade Desk

Reports To: Director, Operations

Job Summary: Lead domestic gold trade operations, ensuring an efficient, transparent, and regulated marketplace, while promoting value addition and implementing robust market intelligence and risk management strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee trade acquisition SOPs that align with international best practices, ensuring structured, transparent, and accountable gold transactions.

  • Design and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for aggregators and traders, setting benchmarks that drive ethical sourcing, trade efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

  • Oversee the facilitation of local gold sales, promoting value addition through refining and fabrication.

  • Lead the daily pricing strategy for the organisation, ensuring competitive, transparent, and stable gold pricing structures at all levels of the acquisition channel.

  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities that can inform trade strategies.

  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure the trade desk operates within legal frameworks.

Job Summary: Responsible for trader engagement, pricing execution, transaction monitoring, trade documentation, and operational reporting, contributing to a structured, transparent, and efficient gold acquisition process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing the execution of downstream trades, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols.

  • Conduct due diligence checks on trade transactions, working with Compliance and Finance teams to prevent fraud, under-invoicing, and market manipulation.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with traders, aggregators, and financial institutions to facilitate efficient trade operations.

  • Act as a liaison between traders and internal units such as the Assaying & Exports Unit to streamline processes.

  • Analyse market data to support the development of market intelligence frameworks.

  • Prepare operational reports on domestic gold trade activities for senior management review.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, or related field and a member of a professional body.

  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in gold trading, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.

Job Summary: Oversees gold supply management, pricing strategies, contract execution, and regulatory compliance while driving strategic engagements with financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and market participants to enhance Ghana’s gold trade ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for upstream gold trade, ensuring alignment with international best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess the performance of off-takers and refineries, ensuring compliance with the organisation’s contractual and market expectations.

  • Develop dynamic pricing structures that reflect global benchmark prices, optimising revenue while minimising discount losses in international markets.

  • Conduct ongoing analysis of international offtake discounts, advising management on strategic pricing decisions to maximise foreign exchange earnings.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

  • Support the design and implementation of comprehensive responsible sourcing frameworks that align with international best practices and ethical standards.

  • Manage gold traceability systems, implementing advanced blockchain-based tracking, digital certification, and mine-to-market verification mechanisms to prevent illicit trade, enhance regulatory reporting, and strengthen supply chain transparency.

  • Develop, implement, and continuously enhance responsible sourcing policies, ensuring strict adherence to the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703) as amended (Act 995), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, and OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of traceability systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

  • Conduct in-depth due diligence on supply chain partners, assessing compliance with OECD Due Diligence Guidance, the Kimberley Process, LBMA Responsible Gold Guidance, and Ghana’s regulatory framework.

  • Supervise the monitoring of compliance with responsible sourcing standards and assist in the preparation of reports.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to responsible sourcing and traceability activities.
